Frequently asked questions

Q.1.  When should I start physiotherapy after an injury?

Its is not too early to start physiotherapy immediately as the condition is stable.  In contrast it is important to receive consultation and physiotherapy in order to treat the acute condition like swelling, pain, acute inflammation, inability to mobilize, etc.  In addition, an immediate intervention of the injury is the key for fast rehabilitation and prevent injury.  Therefore, do not wait to start physiotherapy after an injury.

Q.2. Do I still need to do exercise after I did a lot at work?

The output from work (energy spend calories) may be the same as exercises.  Another important issue is that work e.g. lifting is not specific as compare to exercise.  In a customized exercise program e.g. back strengthening program, only the specific muscles is trained.  As a result, a focused training and exercise will maximized the outcome you expected.  Other compensation movement or trick movement involved ordinary lifting can be eliminated.. Therefore the outcome of a specific exercise VS non-specific work is totally different as for effectiveness and efficient.

Q.3.  What is Whiplash injury?

The commonly term "whiplash" usually refers to the "cervical acceleration/deceleration syndrome" (CAD).  This condition can be resulted after a motor vehicle accident and can be also occurred in various degrees from  falls and sports injuries.  Symptoms include complaint of spinal pain, stiffness, tenderness, loss of range of movement, muscle weakness...etc.  In severe case, neurological signs may appear like decrease tendon reflexes, muscle weakness, sensory deficits...etc.
